The road flanks the lake and
looks towards the narrowing of the valley between reservoirs two
and three. The summer lowering, right, of the lake is shown by
both shorelines and an invasion of vegetation. |

The Peny-garreg Reservoir is the third in
the series of lakes and looks upstream towards the last barrier, holding
back the last reservoir, the Craig Goch. In the centre is the entrenched
rock narrows between Garreg-ddu Reservoir and Peny-garreg Reservoir. |

The uppermost reservoir, Craig Goch, has
parking and a toilet available at the eastern end of the dam. It is also
at the end of an attractive-looking cycle path and the start of a route
over the hills beyond. It was a lovely picnic spot! |
