The  erosion of the cliff at the Naze Tower has eaten away behind the beach defences, creeping up on the concrete steps down to the undercliff. Just 4 metres remain.

Although not yet at high tide, as seen by the remaining area of beach, the sea front north of the pier is taking a battering.

 

The effect of these waves on the soft sands and clays at the Naze must be very destructive.
